A 9-day tour of Japan and South Korea aboard the Diamond Princess, amidst a festive atmosphere.

Customer service everywhere was good. The food was quite good as well. I just didn't expect better...But I wish they run breakfast a bit longer. I had to wait for pizza when was late.

My big disappointment was with not having enough of good entertainment in the evening. I was on my own & don't go to bed early. So, really was relying on much BETTER shows. I only liked 1 - Americans. The rest was rubbish. The guy in a bar on a piano was also good, but how often u want to sit in same bar, listen to same... They should really improve the shows in the Theater. Because my evenings were too boring, I booked now a trip on Norvegian, as their entertainment have very good reviews. Unfortunately, I had to go to my cabin too often to watch TV. It really spoiled my trip.

Bought the package before boarding ,not worth it as most of the time the Wi-fi would not connect due to Satalite positions around Japan, Carnival PLC (The owners) know this but are still prepared to charge full price.

The drinks package is not worth purchasing, you cannot get anothing other than coffee on disembarcation as they want you off by 8.00 a.m.

Excursions are over priced compared with on shore pricing.

Big cut backs on entertainment since I last sailed on this ship.

Small food portions in Restaurants.

The ship is begining to look tired and in need of a face lift ,some sound systems not working properly carpet seams coming apart in main foot traffic areas, little attention paid too safety in Atrium allowing passengers to block staircases to watch events.

Overall a good cruise if you avoid purchasing on board.

Could not fault any of the crew who work hard to protect the brand

We recently sailed Diamond Princess on the 11-night Circle Japan itinerary and it became our favourite cruise to date. The ship is older but beautifully maintained, elegant and comfortable, with excellent service, a strong Japanese influence and consistently impressive food. The main dining room was particularly good, while Crown Grill, Chef’s Table and the Caymus Winemakers Dinner were standout experiences. The buffet offered excellent Japanese and Western choices and stayed open throughout the day. Pools were enjoyable and uncrowded, and The Sanctuary was worth the splurge for a quieter, luxurious space, although its food and service were disappointing.

Our balcony cabin was spacious and comfortable, and a pedestal fan helped with nighttime warmth. Embarkation and disembarkation were exceptionally smooth. OceanNow was convenient but unreliable and limited.

The predominantly Japanese, older passenger demographic created a relaxed, respectful atmosphere. Overall, we loved the combination of relaxing onboard while sampling different Japanese destinations.
