Elite Cruiser Sadly Disappointed

We have sailed many days with Princess (Elite) and have sailed on Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Cunard, and Disney. We love cruising and have thought we are quite easy to please. However, our last cruise with Princess was disappointing. We sailed on Regal for a 2-week Caribbean back-to-back cruise (Eastern, then Western). Our major disappointments were 1) Food; 2) Musical entertainment/Lack of it; and 3) The ceiling leaked almost everywhere. The food choices were not as appealing as on previous Princess ships (Island Princess was the best!!) Side Note: The Lasagna tasted like it was made with mashed potatoes rather than pasta. The music was lacking in talent, variety, and abundance. Most annoying of all was the leaking ceiling! People had to check to see if their seat was soaked before sitting down. There were several leaks in the buffet. I had a drip in my drink that I saw drip, but it makes me wonder how many times food or drinks received drips that people did not see. I politely told one of the attending chefs about it, thinking he may want to put a caution cone out so people would avoid that spot, and he rudely brushed it off. Going to try Holland America next. :-)

We cruised the eastern Caribbean. The ship was beautiful and very friendly staff all around. One thing that made this cruise so great is what we learned from her sister ship the enchanted princess. The secret to navigating these ships with ease is to stay forward or mid ship. If you stay in the aft of the ship you can only go down to the 7th floor then walk to mid ship or forward to get down to lower decks. Another tip is if you like a larger balcony look a the ones on deck 8 we booked and had plenty of room for 2 loungers and a table. The only thing is they call it an obstructed view because it’s steel at the end instead of glass. The only reason we give this ship a 4 star is with all the food buffet room they have there was very little selection especially for breakfast. The quality was very good but I ended up just waiting fur lunch and skipping breakfast. The main dining room was definitely the better option. I did have the princess plus package and used all 4 at the sushi bar it was great well worth the money with the WiFi and drinks included! Can’t wait to cruise princess again wonderful friendly staff all around we loved it highly recommend!
Fabulous Regal princess!

This was our first time with princess and I did not expect the amazing service I received the cleanliness of our cabin and the ship. We found the different menu every night to be fantastic, the international cafe offered perfect cappuccino bite sizes, dessert and sandwiches If you were hungry between meals. They were options for everyone in regards to food and beverages. I also found that there was a lot of quiet places you can sit, It was never too crowded. Entertainment was fabulous. Activities during the day were amazing. The crew was helpful and friendly. We were very happy with our cabin and balcony, we were on the 14th floor midship.
They had bars located throughout the ship. Never a long line to get something to drink, we liked a sit down dinner but for lunch we went to the buffet. I found the buffet to be clean and organized with large selection of vegetarian, seafood and meat to choose from, including a pasta bar. One of my evening favorite spot is the wine bar. Great selection of wines and the charcuterie board.
We definitely plan to use princess Cruise again.
First timer, maybe not last timer

The good: good food, great service, fun entertainment staff, zero problems with other guests - very friendly and respectful!, clean ship, could always find a seat, room was decent and pretty clean, excursions were amazing but a bit pricey, we had 3 birthdays in our group of 11 and the restaurant staff helped make them extra special. Milos and Jun were awesome at Concerto restaurant. They REALLY went out of their way to accommodate, the ABBA show was amazing, and Let's Make a Deal, the game shows with guest competitors were downright hilarious, comedy shows were great, pickleball and ping pong tournaments were popular too
Not so good: no 1 bottle free water in room (really?), night life is lacking, a lot shuts down by 11:00-11:30, definitely an older crowd, shower water pressure was pretty bad
Cruise again? Yes I would. Wife said yes. 24 year old daughter said no.
Solid Princess experience as usual

Embarkation - Absolute breeze. On the ship within 10 minutes.
Ship Appearance - Everything was kept clean and maintained around the ship. It is a traditional looking ship with a piazza where a lot of the entertainment happens.
Food - Very good. Of the mainstream cruise lines. Princess is the best in my opinion. No matter if it's buffet/MDR/speciality dining, couldn't fault the food at all
Service - Staff were all friendly and liked to have a chat. You could tell from conversations they had with customers that people keep coming back to the same bars because of the staff.
Never much wait at bars for a drink.
Entertainment - I've seen a decline on own cruise line entertainment teams in the last few years so was impressed to see a talented bunch of performers doing some very good shows. The one based on Broadway shows was excellent.
Did try to do Deal or No Deal but there were technical issues doing it through the phone and they offered no physical card alternative which is poor for those people who either don't have a phone or it didn't work (I wasn't the only one so they lost quite a bit of money)
Cabin - There were 4 of us so as expected it was pretty cramped in the standard balcony cabin. The steward though does put the beds away each day and then lowers them in the evening which helped. Again, everything was clean and had a modern TV. Could do with some USB outlets by the bed though.
Particularly loved the Movies under the Stars at night. However not sure why they have to remove all chairs on the upper decks at 6PM every evening. On warm evenings it would be nice to sit out away from the noise of the main TV/pool area but there is absolutely nowhere to sit. Seems like the staff finish their shift at 6PM and so have to put all the chairs away.
Disembarkation - Again,no problems and straight off ship at the choice of time we wanted.
We did travel with kids and actually there were more kids on board than I originally thought there would be. The ship is more for the over 40's though so some kids may get bored.
Would I travel on Regal Princess again? Yes, absolutely given the right itinerary and price.
Of course, some things could be better but nothing is ever perfect so 5/5 is a true score.
