Mixed feelings

travel_exploreDestination: World Cruise

sailingDeparture Port: Sydney (Australia)

Our cabin was lovely. Fairly new carpet, comfy bed, but some trim worn. And furniture on balcony seen better days. Lots of paint splatters. However, still loved it. And very quiet.

We found many public areas of the ship uncomfortably cold. Just over 19 degrees Celsius, regardless of outside temperature. Needed a thick jumper and blanket for comfort. Mentioned it to guest services many times as not just us. Many people heard to complain. Heard crew say how cold it was and even an entertainer saying air conditioning was a problem. Nothing changed over weeks. The O’Malley’s Irish pub probably set to temperatures on west coast of Ireland in winter to give an authentic feel.

The theatre and other lounges are not big enough for the number of passengers. If you’re not in the theatre 20 minutes or more before a show or popular presentation, good luck in getting a seat.

Entertainment overall very good. Very good enrichment presentations and shows at night. Crew band fabulous. Singers and dancers amazing. Enjoyed most guest entertainment.

As a vegetarian I found food very good.

Crown Princess Vista Suite E732

travel_exploreDestination: South Pacific

sailingDeparture Port: Sydney (Australia)

calendar_monthTravel Date: 2026-04

Vista Suite E732 on Deck 8 (Emerald) aboard the Crown Princess is a genuinely beautiful and very spacious aft-facing suite with an incredible wake view and a huge balcony.

The room itself is excellent — large bedroom area, seating/lounge space, two TVs, stocked bar area, separate sink/bar station, long hallway, and a very good-sized bathroom with strong shower pressure, bathtub, separate toilet and vanity areas with their own entrances/exits.

Our room attendant was fantastic and the overall service onboard was excellent.

Unfortunately, the major downside is the location. E732 sits directly above Club Fusion, with the live band stage and drum kit almost directly underneath the cabin.

The noise can be extremely loud and impossible to ignore. You can often hear the singer word for word, and you can clearly feel and hear the beat of the drums and music vibrating through the floor — especially in the bathroom and vanity area.

Music regularly continued until around 11pm, with fitness and dance classes starting again from around 8–9am.

If you like early nights, quiet time, or watching a movie in the room, this can become very frustrating.

The cabin itself is one of the nicest we’ve stayed in, but unfortunately the constant noise from below would stop us from booking E732 again.

Otherwise the cruise was excellent. We love the Crown Princess and this is our second cruise on this ship.

The food in the restaurants, particularly dinner in the Reserved Dining room for suite guests, was simply outstanding. Consistently exceptional every night. As was breakfast in Sabatinis each morning.

Misold package.

Currently on the Crown Princess. The ship itself is in good order. Entertainment is ok.

The rooms and bedding are of good quality. The toilet and shower are small with annoying shower curtain which sticks to you when showering not great if you are tall either.

Its the princess plus package that we believe is being misold.

We were supposed to get 4 speciality dinning each, what that amounts to according to Princess is the Irish pub grub and wine bar.

Don't expect to have the Steak House($80 supplement) or Italian again a

($80 surcharge) , they are only on the premiere package.

I would not class fish and chips or a burger speciality. The are selling as a Gastro pub?

I have given it a average rating as we have never upgraded and been limited to 15 drinks and miss sold the speciality dinning.

Don't be fooled when purchasing this.

Cost cutting disgraceful on princess cruises anymo

travel_exploreDestination: Australia & New Zealand

sailingDeparture Port: Sydney (Australia)

We will never go on a princess cruise again. Cutting cost has gone to far. Food in buffet , less variety, looked reheated or remade. Salad was old, dessert cut down to cake and jelly. . Menu in dinning room cut so badly that I eat a bread roll on several nights. I would have tried the buffet, but not only bad food , no one was washing hands or using sanitizer, staff did not inform guests to do so. So many cruisers were unwell., and spreading it around throughout the buffet. Condition of the ship after refit was appalling, seating in lounges have ripped seats, staterooms with broken lights chips in the wooden fixtures and walls badly marked. . Cutting of staff is so bad that the bars at times , only one staff trying to serve 20 passengers. , staff cuts are obvious everywhere throughout the ship. Not a fan of princess cruises anymore, due to cost cutting too much. Gone too far this time princess.

Disappointment

As always, the crew & staff were amazing, especially in the dining rooms.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the entertainment, which was mediocre at bestrity, with exception of Craig Bowen in the Crooners Bar.

Majority of the music was very low key, even in the Irish bar, which became a talk fest with some rebel songs thrown in.

The live shows were lack lustre, we actually left 2.

We’re not the age group for night clubbing but there was no lively dancing to be had anywhere.

The food was sub standard and repetitive and portions very small ( eg oysters kilpatrick 2!!)

Wines were extremely expensive for very ordinary labels.

Or the second cruise in a row, despite extra hygiene measures, we found ourselves in isolation requiring medical care, for 3 days.

There was no access to the menus on the TV so we rang guest services, who informed us we had a choice of soup, salad or a burger! ( which was cold on delivery). Being stuck in a cabin should afford a passenger the same options as others.

As our room wasn’t serviced, even by the special cleaners, we had to resort to getting our own towels etc from the trolley.

Loved NZ but won’t be in a hurry to cruise again after our last 2 experiences. We don’t go away to get sick
