Costa is a horrible cruise line

Costa pacifica is horrible the ship is so overcrowded and noisy and caos , buffet is so crowded , they will not even give you a glass of water with lunch or dinner in the dining room and force you to buy a bottle for 3.50 euro plus 15 percent gratuity , no snacks , no included ice cream, pool is horrible and loud with kids and baby strollers everywhere a total zoo , the staff is doing their job but they do not seem happy except the animation crew and higher up ,I can not believe carnival owns this company and allows this to tarnish their brand , to be fair the shows were good but only 30 minutes, the live music was good and room was fine , but the whole atmosphere has made me want to stay away from any carnival brand cruise lines and definitely stay away from costa

Great cruise. Went with family and experienced something new, as it was our first time. The evening events are varied and the food is very good. The Costa app works great, but they could add navigation on the ship and a translator for those who are less fluent in languages to the app. Our cabin was inside, it was not in the best location, as it was directly under deck 9, where there was a disco every night and there was a terrible noise above our heads. Next time we will take an outside cabin, which is larger with a balcony, as we missed the sea view from the room. The cleanliness of the ship was excellent and our server James was very friendly and helpful. But the elevators were very crowded and sometimes it's better to walk up the stairs than wait for the elevator. I would also criticize one thing and that is the price of the photos they take on the ship. They really exaggerate, they would sell a lot more if they were cheaper. We didn't buy them.
Gutted and disappointed

First time on Costa , mixed feelings really
The dining menu was ok if you liked fish , I don’t so went buffet and blimey it’s up there with the top end of chaotic
This was the precluding week to the cruise going to the Caribbean , the crew seemed tired and just wanted the Northern Europe leg to end -indeed the on ship preparations were all geared towards the forthcoming move to the southern hemisphere so we felt short changed
The compulsory tipping of 11 Euros a day per passenger surely doesn’t help and we could only really name 2 or 3 staff members who went over and above (we tipped accordingly)
We were in an internal cabin - noisy!!! Very noisy , there is no respect from the majority Italian guests and someone thought it was hilarious to be playing their tv at full volume on the emergency channel instructions
There (I guess as expected) was a lot if guests coughing and spluttering - the lack of hygiene stations around the ship should really be of concern
The ship is tired as are the crew , fortunately there was a changeover mid trip so some new life was bought on board
The overall isn’t great -the buffet is cold and you have to ask for butter
Hot drinks are not good and if you don’t do the see drinks package can make the trip very expensive
Shout out to the ice cream parlour though - the milkshake is top notch
We joined the ship in Barcelona , which is miles above any of the other stops
Palmera is just awful
Marseille will rip you 15 euros for the shuttle which you have to take otherwise you are walking for an hour to get out the port!
the side street shops and main thoroughfares are closed Sundays - never understand which cruise companies dock on that day?
Savona is picturesque and is the only Italian stop I may return to
Would o go again? No
Would I do a city break in Barcelona? Yes
