A beautiful November on the Costa Pacifica

Great cruise. Went with family and experienced something new, as it was our first time. The evening events are varied and the food is very good. The Costa app works great, but they could add navigation on the ship and a translator for those who are less fluent in languages to the app. Our cabin was inside, it was not in the best location, as it was directly under deck 9, where there was a disco every night and there was a terrible noise above our heads. Next time we will take an outside cabin, which is larger with a balcony, as we missed the sea view from the room. The cleanliness of the ship was excellent and our server James was very friendly and helpful. But the elevators were very crowded and sometimes it's better to walk up the stairs than wait for the elevator. I would also criticize one thing and that is the price of the photos they take on the ship. They really exaggerate, they would sell a lot more if they were cheaper. We didn't buy them.

Gutted and disappointed

First time on Costa , mixed feelings really

The dining menu was ok if you liked fish , I don’t so went buffet and blimey it’s up there with the top end of chaotic

This was the precluding week to the cruise going to the Caribbean , the crew seemed tired and just wanted the Northern Europe leg to end -indeed the on ship preparations were all geared towards the forthcoming move to the southern hemisphere so we felt short changed

The compulsory tipping of 11 Euros a day per passenger surely doesn’t help and we could only really name 2 or 3 staff members who went over and above (we tipped accordingly)

We were in an internal cabin - noisy!!! Very noisy , there is no respect from the majority Italian guests and someone thought it was hilarious to be playing their tv at full volume on the emergency channel instructions

There (I guess as expected) was a lot if guests coughing and spluttering - the lack of hygiene stations around the ship should really be of concern

The ship is tired as are the crew , fortunately there was a changeover mid trip so some new life was bought on board

The overall isn’t great -the buffet is cold and you have to ask for butter

Hot drinks are not good and if you don’t do the see drinks package can make the trip very expensive

Shout out to the ice cream parlour though - the milkshake is top notch

We joined the ship in Barcelona , which is miles above any of the other stops

Palmera is just awful

Marseille will rip you 15 euros for the shuttle which you have to take otherwise you are walking for an hour to get out the port!

the side street shops and main thoroughfares are closed Sundays - never understand which cruise companies dock on that day?

Savona is picturesque and is the only Italian stop I may return to

Would o go again? No

Would I do a city break in Barcelona? Yes

Experience With Serious Service Issues

Costa Pacifica – Mixed Experience With Serious Service Issues

This cruise had great potential thanks to the beautiful itinerary and locations we visited. Unfortunately, several negative service experiences significantly impacted the overall quality of my stay onboard Costa Pacifica.

Internet & App Support There is a staff member named Ana responsible for internet and the Costa app. Her schedule is extremely limited, so when you first board the ship, there is often no one available to help you set up internet or activate the app — even though many onboard services are dependent on using the Costa app. As a result, you can spend many hours, even until the next day, without proper access. Even after setup, the internet worked poorly and the app was slow and frequently unusable. Overall, a very disappointing experience regarding connectivity and digital services.

SPA Management & Customer Service The SPA area is supposed to be a place of relaxation and wellness, especially since guests pay extra to use it. However, the SPA manager behaved in a very unprofessional and aggressive way toward guests instead of assisting them. Her attitude created stress rather than comfort, which is the opposite of what a SPA should provide.

Reception & Club Desk The reception area was constantly overcrowded. The staff seemed untrained, uninformed and poorly coordinated. A similar situation was noticed in the Club area as well. This level of disorganization is not what I would expect from a cruise line.

Positive Aspects On a more positive note, the Food & Beverage team did a very good job. The quality and variety of food were excellent. Another strong point is the number of elevators onboard — there was rarely any waiting time, which helped avoid crowding.

Conclusion

Costa Pacifica has potential thanks to its routes and dining service. However, customer support, internet/app services, and SPA management need serious improvement. These issues had a strong negative impact on my holiday experience, and I hope Costa takes these comments seriously to improve guest satisfaction in the future.
